The high-end processor is specified with a standard TDP of 55 watts, which, however, has to be exceeded by far for full performance - as is the case with all CPUs. This is where the wheat is separated from the chaff and the real performance depends on the laptop's cooling quality:

Whereas ultra-thin notebooks can only reach high performance values for a short time, the more powerful cooling of the Stellaris 16 can also permanently dissipate a power consumption of up to 100 watts and thus almost double the standard TDP to constantly provide outstanding performance for content creation or gaming.

Galactical performance with the fastest laptop graphics on earth!

Fastest Linux gaming laptop on the market? The Stellaris 16 - Gen5 is the first TUXEDO to integrate the brand new RTX 40 graphics cards for notebooks. But that's not all: While NVIDIA defines a very wide spectrum of performance gradations (Total Graphics Power, TGP for short), only the fastest versions are used in the Stellaris 16!

The top model, the GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop, is a technical masterpiece. With a TGP of up to 175 watts, it is not only the fastest laptop GPU on the market, but also surpasses its direct predecessor, the RTX 3080 Ti by around 50%! In terms of efficiency the RTX 4090 Laptop beats similarly fast desktop graphics cards by far: Both the new GeForce RTX 4070Ti (285 watts) and the last gen's top tier model, the RTX 3090 (350 watts), draw around 63 to 100% more power for roughly the same performance!

The performance data of the GeForce RTX 4080 look similarly impressive: With 12 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory and the same power consumption, it ranks about 20% behind the mobile top tier model, but still about 30% ahead of the 3080 Ti Laptop and even about 50% ahead of its direct predecessor, the RTX 3080.

For a more affordable but powerful high-level entry with performance reserves thanks to DLSS, the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 are available, each with 8 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory and a lower power consumption of up to 140 watts, which can even run a bit cooler or quieter thanks to the equivalent cooling system with 6 heatpipes.

Wolf in sheep's clothing: High-quality chassis in a subtle workstation design

Despite its brute high-end performance, the all-new TUXEDO Stellaris 16 - Gen 5 chassis focuses on a distinct balance of high mobility and strong cooling capabilities:

With a height of only 2.6 cm, the high-end Linux gamer is closed hardly thicker than the diameter of a quarter dollar coin(!), and at 2.5 kg, it is fairly portable for even a longer transport in a backpack.

The powerful cooling, with 6 heatpipes (plus a water cooling tube for TUXEDO Aquaris) and liquid metal thermal compound for optimal heat transfer from CPU and GPU is clearly superior to typical thin-and-light gaming notebooks and allows higher performance or alternatively quieter fans under load in comparison.

Also very good is the stability of the base unit coated with a grippy, high-quality and mostly fingerprint-repellent soft-touch finish. The aluminum display lid not only feels pleasantly metallic-cool, but also allows a very thin design of the screen with yet high stability for a safe transport.

240 Hz fast 16:10 display

As a high-end Linux gaming notebook, the TUXEDO Stellaris 16 will satisfy the most demanding gamers with an extremely high refresh rate of 240 Hz and also offers a high-resolution display with 2560 x 1600 pixels in the popular 16:10 aspect ratio for more vertical screen space for productive tasks, such as video and image editing.

The sRGB color space, which is completely sufficient for semi-professional image editing, is almost completely covered, which ensures a vibrant picture for games and multimedia alongside the contrast of around 1200:1. The brightness of 350 nits also allows using the compact Linux high-end gamer in bright indoor or shady outdoor areas.

NVIDIA's G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus provide additional comfort and maximum FPS: While the latter automatically drives the display directly via the GeForce graphics during gaming to optimize performance, G-SYNC dynamically adjusts the refresh rate to the graphics card's speed, ensuring the best possible smooth image quality and effectively avoiding "screen tearing".

Quiet membrane or mechanical premium keyboard with Cherry MX switches

To meet the wishes of many customers, we offer the Stellaris 16 with two keyboard options: While fans of high-quality, mechanical keyboards get their money's worth with original Cherry MX ultra low-profile switches, friends of quiet keyboards will be happy about the option with low-noise membrane switches.

The Cherry MX ultra low profile switches produce a very audible trigger noise typical for mechanical keyboards and an extremely stable, excellent typing feel with a total key travel of 1.8 mm with a per slight press-resistant perceptible pre travel of 0.8 mm. The number pad and the function key row are equipped with much quieter, but similarly solid membrane keys due to the fact that Cherry MX switches are not available for those smaller key sizes.

On the other hand, the quiet membrane keyboard with white-edged keycaps, which can be RGB-color-illuminated in 4 zones, fully relies on this low-noise key mechanism, which is much more pleasant especially in quiet environments and convinces with a good and similarly solid typing feel.

The 115 x 70 mm sized glass precision clickpad with integrated mouse buttons has pleasant gliding properties and can be deactivated via a double finger tap in the upper left corner if necessary to - besides the integrated palm recognition - completely prevent typing errors.

Decent battery life thanks to a 99 Wh battery

Even though the Stellaris 16 - Gen5 is clearly designed as a desktop replacement in terms of performance, the high-end Linux gaming notebook can also be easily used on the go for many hours away from the power socket.

The 16 efficiency cores of the Core i9-13900HX come to the fore here and help to save power, while the 99 Wh battery, which is the maximum allowed for taking it on an airplane, allows runtimes of up to 10 hours (idle) and around 6-7 hours under working conditions with active WLAN, medium display brightness and office programs.

External water cooling for stationary use

When the heat is on in virtual battles or the most computationally intensive renderings, the TUXEDO Stellaris 16 - Gen5 pushes open the door to a new form of cooling performance: the optional, external TUXEDO Aquaris water cooling system.

At the back of the notebook are the two magnetic and, when the hoses are removed, self-sealing connectors for plugging the two 650 mm long and 9 mm thick, black sleeved tubes into the notebook. The cooling liquid, which is in the scope of delivery, gets then pumped from the Aquaris' reservoir through a specific cooling pipe that is placed on top of the Stellaris 16's regular air cooling heatpipes.

In this way, the conventional air cooling of the notebook is supported by the TUXEDO Aquaris, resulting in greatly reduced surface and component temperatures and therefore lower fan noise. Alternatively, the additional cooling power can be invested into squeezing out the last performance percentage points in games or renderings.

The weight of 1.39 kg as well as the relatively compact case dimensions of 203 x 75 x 186 mm allow for occasional transport, although due to the need to carefully empty the notebook and, if necessary, the water cooling box beforehand, operation is designed for stationary use at the desk.

Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and 3x USB-A

The connectivity of the TUXEDO Stellaris 16 leaves nothing to be desired and offers HDMI 2.1 and Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 1.4a for connecting two external high-resolution monitors. The latter offers the possibility to connect a third monitor to the Stellaris 16 via MST splitter for a total of even 4 screens (3x external, 1x internal).

On the data side, 3x USB Type A ports and a full-size card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC) are also available. The connectivity is completed by connections for headphone output, microphone input, RJ 45 LAN and the optional, external water cooling TUXEDO Aquaris.
