Keyboard laser etching and logo printing service

You have already informed yourself about our customization options for your TUXEDO? Great!

Then find out here step by step how to order, create and submit your individual keyboard layout and/or logo for display lid printing.

How to submit your keyboard layout

When configuring your TUXEDO notebook, select in the "Keyboard layout" selection menu the option 'Custom Layout (+ 5 days processing) ( +79,00 EUR)'.

After completing your order, simply download the template for your TUXEDO notebook on GitHub (e.g. by right-clicking on the keyboard layout and "Save image as" or similar), edit it accordingly and submit it to us via reply email to our order confirmation.

Alternatively, submission via GitHub is also possible.
Important: When choosing the submission via GitHub, please note in the comment field of your order that you have submitted a keyboard layout on GitHub! We will check your layout and laser it on your TUXEDO's keyboard.

Important notes!

Please be sure to follow these instructions when creating your keyboard:

  • To edit our keyboard templates you need a vector graphics program (e.g. the free Inkscape).
  • Please do not change the locked layers which contain the keyboard grid! Please edit only the keyboard labeling.
  • Don't change the position of the key labeling for your keyboard layout. Please keep enough distance to the edges of the key caps!
  • You can download our default keyboard font here for free.
  • Important: Please make sure to convert all text and contour objects to paths after you have finished your layout:
To do this in Inkscape, simply select all relevant objects and choose "Path" > "Convert object to path" or "Convert contour to path" respectively from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  • Please make sure that no objects overlap each other! Overlapping areas will not be recognized as such by the laser machine and will be left out.

How to submit your logo

When configuring your TUXEDO notebook, select the option "Individual Logo (+ 5 days processing) ( +99,00 EUR)" in the "Chassis Logo" selection menu.

After completing your order, please send us your logo by reply email to our order confirmation, providing the following information:

  • The size (width x height in millimetres) in which your logo shall be printed
  • The position of your logo on the display cover (default is horizontally and vertically centered)

Important notes!

Please be sure to follow these instructions when creating your logo design:

  • The preferred file format for your graphic is SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics).
Such a vector graphic can be scaled to any size without loss of quality and is therefore best suited for printing your logo.
You can find more information here.
  • To create an svg file you need a vector graphics program (e.g. the free Open Source app Inkscape).
  • Please be sure to convert all text objects and contour objects to paths:
To do this in Inkscape, select all objects and choose Path > Convert Object to Path or Convert Contour to Path respectively from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  • For pixel raster graphics, such as JPG or PNG, a minimum print-ready resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch) is required. 1 inch is equal to 2.54 cm.
Example: A JPG or PNG, which shall be printed with a size of 15x15 cm, requires a resolution of at least 1772x1772 pixels ((300 dpi / 2,54 cm)*15 cm).
