Christoffer - TUXEDO Computers

How old are you?

I am 37 years old.

Are you from Augsburg?

Originally I come from a small town in Sweden. Apart from that I have also lived a good time in Stockholm where I studied. After arriving in Germany I spent a shorter time in Dortmund before settling in Augsburg which is where I currently reside.

How long have you been working with Linux and why?

I have used Linux on and off privately and professionally depending on need but I would say I have only been really working with Linux, especially on and around the kernel, since I joined TUXEDO Computers.

How do you know TUXEDO Computers?

I got to know the company through a former employee. He had told me about TUXEDO Computers and since they were looking for personnel, I applied and was taken on.

Why did you want to work at TUXEDO Computers?

I had heard many positive things. A smaller company can offer many opportunities to learn various things and it's also appreciated when you learn something new. I discovered an open and relaxed mentality akin to the open source world that it fits to.

What are you doing in your field?

I am mainly responsible for the development of the laptops. This partly means development, maintenance and reverse engineering for the TUXEDO platform drivers but also a lot of testing of the systems. I also develop and maintain the TUXEDO Control Center. As mentioned previously the tasks vary and occasionally I also do some work on the web shop system. Apart from this there are always new and old issues with devices or systems to investigate and solutions to find.

What do you particularly like about TUXEDO / the devices?

As mentioned, I like the varied and creative work. I also particularly like the positive environment and the people who work at TUXEDO Computers. The laptops and PCs don't all appeal to me personally, of course, but in general I like the flexibility offered being able to configure the devices before and after receiving them.

What do you dream about for the (TUXEDO) future?

Well, if I may dream...
It would be very interesting to see/design a complete TUXEDO: From the ground up!

Another personal thing - what are your hobbies?

I have too many hobbies but they could, more or less, be summarized into three areas: Music, electrical engineering and sports.
Music-wise I play a few instruments and sing. With electronics I mostly make weird experiments and more or less useful/less devices for the home. For the movement I enjoy swimming a lot (especially outside in the summer) and I also quite like to go bouldering.
