Looking at the technical data, it immediately becomes clear that the TUXEDO Stellaris 17 is an absolute high-end gaming and workstation notebook, which puts the performance of an serious gaming desktop PC in a proportionally compact and comfortable to transport, high-quality enclosure.

High-end desktop replacement in a portable premium chassis

This is made possible on the one hand by NVIDIA RTX 40 graphics in their respective highest TGP performance class (RTX 4060/70: 140 W, RTX 4080/90: 175 W) as well as Intel's fastest high-end CPU Core i9-14900HX (up to 160 W) and on the other hand by the most powerful cooling of all TUXEDO notebooks incl. optional, stationary water cooling TUXEDO Aquaris, which allows the hardware to unleash its full potential.

With a - in relation to its power-hungry high-end components and space for the mechanical keyboard - compact height of 27 mm and a footprint of 382 x 273 mm with a weight of 2.8 kg, the TUXEDO Stellaris 17 underlines its claim as high-end desktop replacement in a portable format.

The high-quality and robust chassis is made of aluminum (display lid and bottom case) and rigid plastics for the base-unit with a pleasant feeling and largely fingerprint-resistant, rubberized Grip-Touch coating for first-class haptics and build quality.
 

Quiet yet powerful: Great cooling by air and water

The advantage of a not too thin chassis is increased cooling capacity, which can be used for higher performance or quieter fan noise compared to slimmer notebooks.

The Stellaris 17's very performant air cooling is equipped with a 50 mm and a large 60 mm fan and 6 heatpipes to allow a total power of 230 watts (CPU: 55 W, GPU: 175 W).
 
The optional stationary »TUXEDO Aquaris« water cooling increases cooling capacity even further: The external case assists the laptop's air cooling and increases the maximum power consumption to 275 watts (CPU: 100 W, GPU: 175 W)!

Distilled water is pumped through a small metal tube sitting on the notebook's internal heatpipes, absorbs some of the heat, channels it out of the laptop and is cooled down in the TUXEDO Aquaris by a 120 mm radiator and fan in order to restart the cycle.

Due to the urgent recommendation to empty your notebook's water cooling tube and the Aquaris' water tank before each transport, TUXEDO Aquaris is meant as great cooling extension in a stationary work setup.
 

Mechanical Cherry-MX or quiet membrane keyboard, 99 Wh battery and 17-inch display

Quiet typing noise or excellent tactile feel: When it comes to the keyboard, customers can choose between the premium option of a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches for unrivaled tactile haptics with the typical, rather loud clicking sound and a classic, quiet membrane keyboard.

The 99 Wh battery, which is the maximum allowed for taking a notebook along on an airplane, provides up to 10 hours (idle) and about 7 hours when surfing the web and working with office programs.

Where the Stellaris 17 stands out is the display: The 17.0-inch format is the only one of its kind and offers the ideal balance of a big screen and a still somewhat compact chassis, which is only about 2 cm wider than that of typical 15.6-inch laptops!

The 16:10 aspect ratio offers more vertical screen space while the brightness of about 380 nits also allows using the Linux gaming laptop outdoors. A refresh rate of 240 Hz makes the panel suitable for the fastest e-sports games, while G-SYNC sychronizes the refresh rate with the GPU rendered frames for buttery smooth image transitions without screen tearing.

Like all TUXEDO notebooks, the Stellaris 17 ships with full Linux support, including Linux-trained customer support, pre-installation of all drivers and partly in-house developed software packages, cloud-based services and in-house Linux distribution »TUXEDO OS« (alternatively: Ubuntu 22.04, Kubuntu 22.04 or Ubuntu Budgie 22.04) (optionally with full hard disk encryption) and on request also with Windows 11.
