Performance from another star: The new Stellaris 17 - TUXEDO Computers

Looking at the technical data, it immediately becomes clear that the new TUXEDO Stellaris 17 is an absolute high-end gaming and workstation notebook, which puts the performance of a cutting-edge, upper class gaming desktop PC in a proportionally compact and comfortable to transport as well as robust, high-quality enclosure.

High-end desktop replacement in a portable premium chassis

This is made possible on the one hand by NVIDIA RTX 40 graphics cards in their respective highest TGP performance class up to the GeForce RTX 4090 as well as the high-end CPU Intel Core i9-13900HX and on the other hand by the most powerful cooling of all TUXEDO notebooks incl. optional, stationary water cooling TUXEDO Aquaris.

The Aquaris enhances the very performant air cooling and thus allows for even cooler temperatures or lower noise emissions in stationary operation. New in this generation are the magnetic and self-sealing ports, which make the connection with the Aquaris’ hoses more convenient and secure by preventing the remaining cooling liquid from leaking out of the notebook’s watercooling pipe after disconnecting the hoses. For safe transportation, it is nevertheless recommended to drain both the laptop and the Aquaris water cooling gadget.

With a - in relation of its high-end components - very moderate height of 2.7 cm and a compact footprint of 38.2 x 27.3 cm with a weight of 2.8 kg, the TUXEDO Stellaris 17 underlines its claim as a high-end desktop replacement in a portable format.

The high-quality and robust chassis is made of aluminum (display lid and bottom case) and rigid plastics for the base-unit with a pleasant feeling and largely fingerprint-resistant, rubberized Grip-Touch coating for first-class haptics and build quality.

Packed with the most powerful notebook hardware

The TUXEDO Stellaris series features the fastest notebook hardware on the planet: All GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards operate at their maximally allowed Total Graphics Power of up to140 watts (RTX 4060 and 4070) or 175 watts (RTX 4080 and 4090) for best-possible graphics performance.

The Core i9-13900HX is one of Intel’s fastest mobile CPUs and can run with up to 100 watts sustained thanks to the Stellaris 17’s powerful air cooling for excellent desktop-class performance.

Flanked by up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM with clock speeds of max 5600 MHz and two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs with up to 8 terabyte capacity, the Stellaris 17 offers a top-notch desktop replacement experience.

Mechanical Cherry-MX or quiet membrane keyboard

A frequently expressed wish from customers on the predecessor model concerned the keyboard options: Besides the premium option of a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches for an excellent tactile, precise and solid typing feel but also very audible “clicking” noise, customers asked for a quiet, solid membrane keyboard, which is now also available in the online store configurator.
  The 99 Wh battery, which is the maximum allowed for taking along on an airplane, provides up to 10 hours (idle) and about 7 hours when surfing the web and working with office programs.

Where the Stellaris 17 stands out is the display: With a 17.0-inch screen, this notebook model is the only one of its kind and offers the ideal balance of a big screen and a still compact chassis, which is only about 2 cm wider than that of typical 15.6-inch laptops!

In addition to that, the 16:10 aspect ratio offers more vertical screen space, and the brightness of about 380 nits also allows using the Linux gaming laptop outdoors. A blazingly fast refresh rate of 240 Hz makes the panel suitable for the fastest e-sports games, while G-SYNC sychronizes the refresh rate with the GPU rendered frames for buttery smooth image transitions without screen tearing.

Like all TUXEDO notebooks, the Stellaris 17 - Gen5 can be ordered in several customizable configurations and ships with full Linux support including Linux-trained customer support, pre-installation of all drivers and software packages, cloud-based services and with the in-house distribution TUXEDO OS (alternatively: Ubuntu 22.04, Kubuntu 22.04 or Ubuntu Budgie 22.04) (optionally with full hard disk encryption) and on request also with Windows 11.
