Welcome on Board @TUXEDO – Part 49 - TUXEDO Computers

The open-source universe has been expanding continuously for years – fueling not only the global software community but also the steady growth of TUXEDO Computers. That’s why we’re constantly expanding our team – in support, development and system administration, as well as in product management and marketing.

At TUXEDO Computers, many Linux and open-source enthusiasts have found their professional home. Maybe there’s a suitable position waiting for you, too? Don’t worry: there’s no need to have “Linux-positive” blood running through your veins. And we don’t bite – not even if you lean more towards Apples or Windows. In the following, one of our newest team members would like to briefly introduce himself.

How old are you?

I am now in my early 30s.

Are you from Augsburg?

No, I am Polish by birth and lived with my parents and grandparents on a farm. In 2004, I came to Germany and have been living in the district of Augsburg ever since.

How long have you been working with Linux and why?

I first came into contact with Linux when I started working at TUXEDO. But I didn’t have to get used to much – the system is very user-friendly, and I was able to settle into my new tasks smoothly.

How did you hear about TUXEDO Computers?

I did some research on the internet and found the job posting through a job portal. I applied immediately.

Why did you want to work here?

In general, I wanted to make a professional change and was looking for variety. I found that here, and I am very satisfied with it. In addition, I found the short travel times from my home to the workplace attractive.

What do you do in your department?

I take care of order processing, create return labels for, e.g., warranty cases, and prepare offers. I am a contact person for customers (by phone or e-mail) when questions arise about the current status of the order, or about shipping and processing.

What do you particularly like about TUXEDO and the devices?

You are warmly welcomed by all employees. The tasks in the back office are diverse, and there is no boredom. TUXEDO regularly organizes interesting events, but also parties and gaming evenings. I have already taken part in a company event themed „interfaces“.

Here, we designed impulse reactions in different groups and connected them with those of other groups – like a domino effect. For me personally, it is a nice idea to also get into conversation with colleagues from other departments, whom you usually do not see in everyday work. You then have a face to a name that you otherwise only read in e-mails or chats.

What do you dream of for the (TUXEDO) future?

I hope for continued friendly cooperation and positive stress that drives TUXEDO forward.

Something more personal – what are your hobbies?

I often spend my free time with books because I simply enjoy reading – different genres. In addition, I am physically active and like being out in nature. I am currently also studying for my driving test.
