Lightweight powerhouse: The new TUXEDO Pulse 14

Flyweight with power sport genes - The new TUXEDO Pulse 14 with AMD Ryzen 4000H

    TUXEDO Book XP15

Augsburg (Germany), 24th of August 2020. The new lightness of ultra-compact high performance. Although placed in the "flyweight" category, the 1.1 kg light and 16.8 mm thin TUXEDO Pulse 14 reaches a performance level that is unrivalled in its weight class: Thanks to AMD's Ryzen 7 4800H, the lightweight 14-incher takes off to a round-about punch - even with up to 16 simultaneous hits.

    Small, but powerful!

The relationship to its big brother, the TUXEDO Pulse 15, can hardly be denied - not only because of its name: The TUXEDO Pulse 14 also wraps itself in a magnesium chassis that is both elegant and robust, with extremely compact dimensions of 320.2 * 214.5 * 16.8 mm. Due to the significantly smaller footprint compared to the bigger 15 inch model, the Pulse 14 comes with a internally screwed 47 Wh battery, which lasts respectable 6 hours in practical usage (150 nits screen brightness and 1080p video streaming) due to the economical and efficient hardware. At powersaving idle mode up to 11 hours can be reached.

But that's it with the differences between the two sibling devices, because in one point the TUXEDO Pulse 14 doesn't want to be inferior to its big brother: Raw CPU performance.

Lightest CPU powerhouse in the world!

And here the flyweight makes no compromises: Nothing less than AMD's latest high-end mobile processors come into play: The AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with 8 cores and 16 threads and the Ryzen 5 4600H with 6 physical and 12 virtual computing units are responsible for top notch CPU performance.

On the graphics side, AMD's powerful yet efficient integrated graphics AMD Radeon RX Vega 7 (Ryzen 7 4800H) and RX Vega 6 (Ryzen 5 4600H) are very solid performers and even capable of light graphically demanding tasks. Together with up to 64 GB DDR4 3200 MHz Dual Channel RAM, they make the TUXEDO Pulse 14 an ultra-light and super compact Linux companion for users looking for workstation performance "on the go".

100 % sRGB thin bezel 14 inch display

Thanks to its modern ultra-thin screen bezels, the only 32 cm wide Pulse 14 integrates a 14-inch FullHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) type IPS 60 Hz display, which particularly benefits Content Creators due to its fairly high color gamut of 100% sRGB and can score points with a brightness of over 300 nits and IPS-typical wide viewing angles.

The white backlit keyboard pleases with a precise typing feel thanks to relatively large keys as well as a well defined feedback. The same applies for the large (114.5 x 70 mm) precision touchpad with integrated mouse buttons and a smooth surface.

Dual channel RAM and card reader

As storage option the TUXEDO Pulse 14 offers one freely assignable M.2 2280 slot with NVMe PCIEx4 or SATAIII - connection, which can be configured with up to 2 TB of storage. Externally, the AMD-only device integrates 3x USB 3.1 (Gen1) - connections (2x type A, 1x type C) and 1x USB 2.0, HDMI, RJ45, Audio out & Mic in as well as a Kensington Lock. The Micro SD memory card reader completes the connection portfolio.
