From 'very good' to eXellent:
The new InfinityBook S 14 Gen6

TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 - Gen6

Augsburg (Germany), 20th of November 2020. After the great success of its predecessor, the new TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 in its 6th generation now sets out not only to continue this success but to surpass it.

Equipped with Intel's new Tiger Lake Core i7-1165G7 and the brand new high performance Intel Iris Xe Graphics iGPU, the lightweight Linux Ultrabook promises great performance with low power consumption.

The power-efficient Core i7-1165G7 has 4 cores (8 threads), which are fed with a TDP of up to 15 watts. Thanks to the 10 nm manufacturing process, the Tiger Lake processor achieves up to 41% higher performance than the i7-10510U of the predecessor model.

However, the highlight of the Tiger Lake CPU is the also brand-new, high-performant Iris Xe Graphics iGPU. Thanks to an enormous increase in performance of up to 185 % compared to the Intel UHD Graphics of the IBS 14 v5, it is also suited for graphics-intensive workloads and even for computer games in reduced settings.

Full featured USB-C 4.0 with Thunderbolt 4

Second highlight of the Linux Ultrabook is the new full featured Thunderbolt 4 / USB-C 4.0 port, which in addition to the integrated DisplayPort 1.4b port also supports the Power Delivery DC-In feature, which allows the notebook to be charged via a practical compact USB power supply (20V, min. 2A).

To connect a second external monitor, the InfinityBook S 14 Gen6 also provides HDMI 2.0b. On the data side, the device additionally has two USB type A ports (1x USB 3.2 Gen1, 1x USB 3.2 Gen2) and a microSD card reader. An LTE module micro-SIM card slot is optional available, which takes up one of the two M.2 SSD slots.

Reflects on old strengths

Never change a running system: According to this principle the TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 Gen6 retains the advantages of its predecessor..

In addition to the large 73 Wh battery for runtimes of around 14 hours for video streaming via WLAN @ ~150 nits and a maximum of even up to 24 hours (idle), the Linux Ultrabook retains its thin (16.8 mm) and lightweight (1.1 kg) magnesium chassis, which gives the IBS 14 high stability (MIL-STD 810G certified). The small 65 Watt power supply supports the high mobility factor of the device.

The highly efficient low power display, which is mounted on the 180° tiltable center hinge, is also on board again, consuming only 1 Watt at 150 nits of brightness. Nevertheless, thanks to the stable IPS viewing angle, full sRGB color gamut and a maximum of around 300 nits of brightness, in terms of image quality there have no compromises to be made.
