Das TUXEDO Book DX1506 ist ein Gerät der D wie [D]esire Serie.
Geräte der Desire-Serie vereinen die Ansprüche des Alltags mit dem Verlangen nach spieletauglicher Hardware. Es kann also nicht nur mit den leistungsstärksten Prozessoren ausgerüstet werden sondern verfügt auch noch über einen sehr guten Grafikchip.
Im DX1506 kommt dem zufolge eine äußerst leistungsstarke NVIDIA GTX 960M Grafikkarte mit 2 GB eigenem Speicher zum Einsatz. Außerdem ist es mit dem modernsten Intel Core i7 Quad-Core Prozessor ausrüstbar. Selbstverständlich handelt es sich bei dem 15,6 Zoll Bildschirm um ein mattes/entspiegeltes LED-Backlight-Display mit einer Full-HD Auflösung (1920 x 1080 Pixel) und IPS-Technologie! Mit an Bord sind natürlich noch eine 2 Megapixel Webcam inkl. Mikro, USB3.0, HDMI, Mini-DisplayPort, DVD/Blu-Ray, bis zu drei HDDs oder SSDs, massig Arbeitsspeicher und vieles mehr.
Eine beleuchtete Tastatur mit Pinguin- anstatt Fenster-Logo rundet den High-End-Anspruch dieses besonderen Geräts noch ab!
Als Besonderheiten bietet das DX1506 die Möglichkeit mit einer 2,5" HDD/SSD, einer M.2 SSD sowie einem UMTS/LTE-Modul UND einem optischen Laufwerk ausgestattet zu werden. Besonders Speicherhungrigen können wir anstelle des optischen Laufwerks auch noch eine weitere Festplatte einbauen!
Außerdem verfügt es natürlich über zwei Arbeitsspeicher-Steckplätze.
Von Haus aus sind schon 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher verbaut, diese können aber bis zu 32 GB aufgerüstet werden.
Um für ordentliche Laufleistung im Batteriebetrieb zu sorgen, ist ein großer 62 Wh Akku im Lieferumfang enthalten!
Der Standardmäßige CD- & DVD-Brenner kann gegen einen Blu-Ray-Brenner ausgewechselt werden.
Für genügend Speicherplatz sorgt die bereits verbaute 500 GB große HDD Festplatte. Wer mehr Platz braucht, kann sich hier für noch größere HDDs entscheiden. Wem es auf ultimative Geschwindigkeit ankommt, kann sich hier auch für eine SSD entscheiden!
SSDs bringen einen enormen Leistungsschub! Hier bietet das TUXEDO Book DX1506 vielerlei Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten. So können Sie entweder die normale Festplatte gegen eine SSD ersetzen oder aber greifen zu einer zusätzlichen Festplatte die in den freien M.2 Slot gesteckt wird. Dadurch haben Sie dann die Geschwindigkeitsvorteile von SSDs mit dem günstigen Platzangebot von HDDs verknüpft und verfügen über zwei Festplatten! Noch immer nicht genug? Dann wählen Sie noch anstelle des optischen Laufwerks eine weitere HDD oder SSD aus!
We install Ubuntu and TUXEDO_OS (based on Ubuntu Budgie) in the latest 64-bit version.
For advanced users and selected devices we also offer openSUSE 15 with Xfce, Gnome or KDE plasma. Of course fully configured and installed with all available updates and device drivers.

Encrypted Installation
On request we install your Linux system completely encrypted. The pre-installation as dualboot with Windows is technically not possible.

Windows on request
If you don't want or can't do without Windows, we install the desired Windows version next to Linux or alone. Please understand that a dual-boot installation can take 1-2 working days longer even though the process is fully automatic. Please also note that we provide you with a correct Windows license incl. license sticker and installation DVD!
Windows Drivers
The corresponding Windows drivers are already included as standard with every device, regardless of whether it is with or without Windows or operating system installation. Alternatively you are free to download alle Windows-Drivers from here.
As accessories you can select an additional external display for enjoying dual display operating together with the laptop.
Furthermore we deliver a wired or wireless keyboard including a mouse or an additional wired mouse. These input devices are produced by Logitech and are only available with German layout!
What are we customizing at the time of installation
We don't just simply install Linux but also customize a lot so that you get a perfectly running and working system! This is what we do:
Driver installation, configuration of special keys, TUXEDO drivers, TRIM commands for SSDs, disabling shopping suggestions at Ubuntu search, various additional packages and tools for configuration and to enhance user friendliness, at devices with NVIDIA graphics the respective drivers including Prime for switching and much more!
TUXEDO driver / TUXEDO WMI
Laptop have some special keys which won't work out of the box with Linux. For example the so called "Flight mode key" for (de)activating WIFI & Bluetooth etc.
To get them running we developed our own drivers and preinstall them (if you select Linux als desired operating system). For everyone curious and manual installers this driver is available at our support database:

Customisations during manual installations / TUXEDO script / TUXEDO driver
If you prefer to install you Linux operating system by yourself or if you have to reinstall it, we provide you with everything necessary at our support database to get it running like we do!
The easiest way is to go with our customisation script "tuxedo.sh". On Ubuntu and Ubuntu-base systems this script automatically runs all customisations the way we do that during preinstallation: installing drivers, configuration for special keys, TUXEDO drivers, TRIM commands for SSDs, deactivating shopping recommendations in Ubuntu search, various additional packages and toos for configuration an to enhance user friendliness, respective driveres on devices with NVIDIA graphics incl. All devices have a maintenance-friendly design. Depending on the model, the essential hardware components such as processor, drive, hard disks, RAM, WIFI modules etc. can be accessed via maintenance flaps or removable floor trays. Furthermore the battery is replaceable if not stated differently. Of course, even after expiration of your warranty period, we're offering replacement parts and service for many years!

Noise growth / Cooling / Ventilation / Fan
Temperature controlled silent fan
At low system workload/stress there is less heat emerging. The cooling system fans have to spin accordingly fast or slow or even turn themselves off completely. But the device doesn't produce any disturbing noises even at full load, no high frequency sounds or clatter, just air swooshing.
Custom fan control with the TUXEDO Control Center
With the TUXEDO Control Center you are able to control the behavior of the fans at yourself. This means that you get the ability to make your device as silent as possible. You are able to set the device almost passive cooled, without any fan noise most of the time!

NVIDIA GeForce graphics chipsets are of course preinstalled and fully configured. Management ist done via NVIDIA Prime. We're configuring the device for running your system with NVIDIA graphics card power. Thanks to NVIDIA Prime this doesn't produce more heat or higher power consumption. This way you'll have all possibilities of your laptop at hands!
