The TUXEDO Book DX1507 is a device of the D like [D]esire series.
Desire series devices combine the demands of everyday life with the desire for gaming-compatible hardware. It can therefore not only be equipped with the most powerful processors but also has a very good graphics chip.
According to the DX1507 , an extremely powerful NVIDIA GTX 1050 graphics card with 4 GB of its own memory (GDDR5) is used. It can also be equipped with the latest Intel Core i7 Quad-Core processor. Needless to say, 15.6 inch screen is a matt / non-glare LED backlight display with Full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels)! A illuminated keyboard completes the high-end requirements of this special device!
As special features the DX1507 offers the possibility to be equipped with a 2,5" HDD/SSD and a M. 2 SSD.
It also has two DDR4 memory slots.
By default, 8 GB DDR4 memory are already built in, but these can be uprated up to 32 GB.
To ensure a proper running performance in battery operation, an large 62 Wh rechargeable battery is included in the scope of delivery!
The 500 GB HDD harddisk already installed provides enough storage space. If you need more space, you can choose even more HDDs here. If you are looking for ultimate speed, you can also opt for an SSD!
SSDs bring an enormous performance boost! The TUXEDO Book DX1507 offers many design possibilities. So you can either replace the normal hard disk with an SSD or you can use a additional hard disk that is plugged into the M. 2 slot. This way, you can combine the speed benefits of SSDs with the space savings of HDDs and have two hard disks at your disposal!
We install Ubuntu and TUXEDO_OS (based on Ubuntu Budgie) in the latest 64-bit version.
For advanced users and selected devices we also offer openSUSE 15 with Xfce, Gnome or KDE plasma. Of course fully configured and installed with all available updates and device drivers.
For "self-installers" and everyone who is interested, we have set up a database with downloads, instructions, tips & tricks and offer a customization script called "tuxedo.sh", which makes our customizations automatically under openSUSE and Ubuntu: Help & Support Section | tuxedo.sh
Encrypted Installation
On request we install your Linux system completely encrypted. The pre-installation as dualboot with Windows is technically not possible.

Windows on request
If you don't want or can't do without Windows, we install the desired Windows version next to Linux or alone. Please understand that a dual-boot installation can take 1-2 working days longer even though the process is fully automatic. Please also note that we provide you with a correct Windows license incl. license sticker and installation DVD!
Windows Drivers
The corresponding Windows drivers are already included as standard with every device, regardless of whether it is with or without Windows or operating system installation. Alternatively you are free to download alle Windows-Drivers from here.
As accessories you can select an additional external display for enjoying dual display operating together with the laptop.
Furthermore we deliver a wired or wireless keyboard including a mouse or an additional wired mouse. These input devices are produced by Logitech and are only available with German layout!
What are we customizing at the time of installation
We don't just simply install Linux but also customize a lot so that you get a perfectly running and working system! This is what we do:
Driver installation, configuration of special keys, TUXEDO drivers, TRIM commands for SSDs, disabling shopping suggestions at Ubuntu search, various additional packages and tools for configuration and to enhance user friendliness, at devices with NVIDIA graphics the respective drivers including Prime for switching and much more!
TUXEDO driver / TUXEDO WMI
Laptop have some special keys which won't work out of the box with Linux. For example the so called "Flight mode key" for (de)activating WIFI & Bluetooth etc.
To get them running we developed our own drivers and preinstall them (if you select Linux als desired operating system). For everyone curious and manual installers this driver is available at our support database:

If you prefer to install you Linux operating system by yourself or if you have to reinstall it, we provide you with everything necessary at our support database to get it running like we do!
The easiest way is to go with our customisation script "tuxedo.sh". On Ubuntu and Ubuntu-base systems this script automatically runs all customisations the way we do that during preinstallation: installing drivers, configuration for special keys, TUXEDO drivers, TRIM commands for SSDs, deactivating shopping recommendations in Ubuntu search, various additional packages and toos for configuration an to enhance user friendliness, respective driveres on devices with NVIDIA graphics incl. All devices have a maintenance-friendly design. Depending on the model, the essential hardware components such as processor, drive, hard disks, RAM, WIFI modules etc. can be accessed via maintenance flaps or removable floor trays. Furthermore the battery is replaceable if not stated differently. Of course, even after expiration of your warranty period, we're offering replacement parts and service for many years!

Temperature controlled silent fan
At low system workload/stress there is less heat emerging. The cooling system fans have to spin accordingly fast or slow or even turn themselves off completely. But the device doesn't produce any disturbing noises even at full load, no high frequency sounds or clatter, just air swooshing.
Custom fan control with the TUXEDO Control Center
With the TUXEDO Control Center you are able to control the behavior of the fans at yourself. This means that you get the ability to make your device as silent as possible. You are able to set the device almost passive cooled, without any fan noise most of the time!
We are personally there for you Monday to Friday from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm (German time). But also outside these times you can contact our team with your request by e-mail. Please include your customer number, the model name of your laptop or PC and as detailed a description of your request as possible. The more details you give us, the faster we can process your request!
