Das Tuxedo Book DX1701 ist ein Gerät der D wie [D]esire Serie.
Geräte der Desire-Serie vereinen die Ansprüche des Alltags mit dem Verlangen nach spieletauglicher Hardware. Es kann also nicht nur mit den leistungsstärksten Prozessoren ausgerüstet werden sondern verfügt auch noch über einen sehr guten Grafikchip.
Im DX1701 kommt dem zufolge eine äußerst leistungsstarke NVIDIA GTX660M Grafikkarte mit 2 GB eigenem Speicher zum Einsatz. Außerdem können Sie sich für die modernsten Intel Core-i Prozessoren der dritten Generation und damit bis zum Intel Core i7-3840QM entscheiden. Selbstverständlich handelt es sich bei dem matten/entspiegelten 17,3 Zoll Bildschirm um ein LED-Backlight-Display mit einer Full-HD Auflösung (1920 x 1080 Pixel). Mit an Bord sind natürlich noch eine 2 Megapixel Webcam inkl. Mikro, USB3.0, HDMI, DVD/Blu-Ray, bis zu drei HDDs oder SSDs, massig Arbeitsspeicher, eSATA und vieles mehr.
Als Besonderheiten bietet das DX1701 die Möglichkeit mi zwei vollwertigen Festplatten ausgestattet zu werden. Es hat also Platz für einen DVD-/Blu-Ray-Brenner UND zwei Festplatten in Form von je bis zu 1 TB HDD oder 480 GB SSD SATA3 Geräten.
Außerdem verfügt es über drei Arbeitsspeicher-Steckplätze.
Von Haus aus sind schon 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher verbaut, diese können aber bis zu 24 GB aufgerüstet werden.
Um für ordentliche Laufleistung im Batteriebetrieb zu sorgen, ist ein extra großer 5200 mAh / 76,96 Wh Akku im Lieferumfang enthalten!
Der Standardmäßige CD- & DVD-Brenner kann gegen einen Blu-Ray-Brenner ausgewechselt werden.
Für genügend Speicherplatz sorgt die bereits verbaute 500 GB große HDD Festplatte. Wer mehr Platz braucht, kann sich hier für bis zu 1 TB entscheiden.
Einen enormen Leistungsschub kann eine SSD Festplatte bringen! Hier bietet das Tuxedo Book DX1701 vielerlei Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten. So können Sie entweder die normale Festplatte gegen eine SSD mit bis zu 480 GB ersetzen oder aber greifen zu einer zusätzlichen Festplatte die in den freien zweiten SATA3-Slot gesteckt wird. Hier können Sie ebenfalls HDDs und SSDs mit bis zu 1 TB bzw. 480 GB auswählen. Dadurch haben Sie dann die Geschwindigkeitsvorteile von SSDs mit dem günstigen Platzangebot von HDDs verknüpft und verfügen über zwei Festplatten!
Als Betriebssystem installieren wir Ihnen natürlich gerne eine Linux-Distribution Ihrer Wahl! Sie können sich für Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Linux Mint oder openSUSE in der jeweils aktuellsten stabilen 64-Bit-Version entscheiden. Natürlich vollkommen konfiguriert und mit allen verfügbaren Updates und Gerätetreibern installiert. Wenn Sie auf Windows nicht verzichten wollen oder können, gibt es die Möglichkeit des Dualboot. Hierbei installieren wir normalerweise Ubuntu neben Windows, auf Wunsch aber auch eine andere Linux-Distribution.
Beim Zubehör können Sie sich noch zusätzlich einen externen Monitor aussuchen, so können Sie zusammen mit dem Notebook Dual-Monitoring genießen.
Außerdem liefern wir Ihnen gerne auch gleich eine kabelgebundene oder kabellose Tastatur inklusive Maus dazu. Diese Sets stammen von Logitech.

We install Ubuntu and TUXEDO OS (based on Ubuntu with KDE Plasma Desktop) in the latest 64-bit version with long term support.
With our fully automatic installation WebFAI you can easily perform a Linux installation exactly as we at TUXEDO Computers do it in our production! You can choose from all distributions that we also offer in our configurator. Depending on the distribution, you have the choice between different desktop interfaces. For "self-installers" and all who are interested, we have set up a database with downloads, instructions, tips & tricks and offer Tomte, a tool that automatically makes our adjustments under Ubuntu, elementary OS and Linux Mint:
Encrypted Installation
On request, we install your Linux system completely encrypted. The pre-installation as dual boot with Windows is technically not possible.

Windows on request
If you don't want or can't do without Windows, we install the desired Windows version next to Linux or alone. Please understand that a dual-boot installation can take 1-2 working days longer, even though the process is fully automatic. Please also note that we provide you with a correct Windows license incl. license sticker and installation DVD!
Windows Drivers
The corresponding Windows drivers are already included as standard with every device, regardless of whether it is with or without Windows or operating system installation. Alternatively, you are free to download all Windows-Drivers from here.

All devices have a maintenance-friendly design. Depending on the model, the essential hardware components such as processor, drive, hard disks, RAM, WIFI modules etc. can be accessed via maintenance flaps or removable floor trays. Furthermore the battery is replaceable if not stated differently. Of course, even after expiration of your warranty period, we're offering replacement parts and service for many years!

At low system workload/stress there is less heat emerging. The cooling system fans have to spin accordingly fast or slow or even turn themselves off completely. But the device doesn't produce any disturbing noises even at full load, no high frequency sounds or clatter, just air swooshing.
Custom fan control with the TUXEDO Control Center
With the TUXEDO Control Center you are able to control the behavior of the fans at yourself. This means that you get the ability to make your device as silent as possible. You are able to set the device almost passive cooled, without any fan noise most of the time!

NVIDIA GeForce graphics chipsets are of course preinstalled and fully configured. Management ist done via NVIDIA Prime. We're configuring the device for running your system with NVIDIA graphics card power. Thanks to NVIDIA Prime this doesn't produce more heat or higher power consumption. This way you'll have all possibilities of your laptop at hands!
