Infinitely fast and portable into the new year: After the launch of the new InfinityBook Max 15 with Ryzen AI processors at the end of last year, its larger but equally ultra-slim sibling, the InfinityBook Max 16, is ready to hit the market with even more impressive features.

Despite its robust high-quality full-metal chassis, this Linux business workstation weighs just over 2kg despite being powered by an absolute high-end processor, the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, while the display features an outstanding high-resolution OLED panel option with brilliant contrast and color reproduction.

Combined with fast NVIDIA graphics, up to 128 GB RAM, and a 99 Wh battery, the InfinityBook Max 16 is a stylish, slim, and very lightweight CPU and graphics workstation for software development, demanding media design, and gaming.

Lightweight and Robust All-Aluminum Chassis

Despite featuring a sturdy all aluminum build, a maximally large 99Wh battery and slightly larger and heavier cooling compared to the lower-tier InfinityBook Pro 15, the new Max 16 comes in at just over 2 kg, combining a particularly lightweight and portable form factor with high performance for software developers and content creators, as well as GPU-based workloads and after-work gaming sessions at high quality settings.

For this, the color-adjustable keyboard backlight adds a fancy touch of gaming aesthetics, while offset positioned full-size arrow keys improve ergonomic navigation, the full-feature number pad ensures high productivity in number-crunching tasks, and rear power and monitor ports allow for a clean and distraction-free cable management.

Desktop-Level Performance: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX

Based on desktop processor technology, the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX with 24 CPU cores offers excellent performance for work and gaming, but thanks to its advanced 3nm architecture, it also impresses with comparatively great energy efficiency, making the InfinityBook Max 16 a lightweight high-end CPU workstation.

Despite its very thin chassis, the InfinityBook Max 16 can run the CPU continuously at up to 140 watts at full fan speed, promising outstanding multicore performance in this form factor.

However, thanks to its very efficient performance-per-watt curve, the Core Ultra 9 275HX delivers around 90% of its speed at less than 100 watts (and thus more moderate fan noise). The TUXEDO Control Center allows the sustained processor power to be set between 10 and 140W in order to balance the individual demand of performance and fan noise.

Premium Display Options and 99Wh Battery

The 16-inch workstation also shines – in the truest sense of the word – when it comes to its display: In addition to a high-quality LED screen with 500 nits of brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 2560x1600 pixels, and 300Hz for high fps gaming, the new OLED display takes image quality to the next level with brilliant, high-contrast color reproduction.

2880x1800 self-lit pixels achieve best-in-class contrast values and perfect black levels by lighting and even switching off the individual pixels, while the non-matte glass surface provides a crystal-clear image with also full DCI-P3 color gamut.   Despite its primary purpose as lightweight high-performance workstation for frequently changing work locations with access to the power socket, the InfinityBook Max 16 features the maximum battery capacity of 99 Wh for up to 8 hours of runtime and convenient USB-C charging with up to 140 watts. For unleashing full performance, the laptop is powered by a particularly compact 240W GaN power supply.

Fast Graphics for Work & Play

The InfinityBook Max 16’s powerful yet affordable mid-range graphics cards in the form of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 and the roughly 15% faster GeForce RTX 5070 offer approximately 3x to 4x more performance* than the InfinityBook Pro 15 (Radeon 890M) and qualify the slim and light Linux business notebook for graphically demanding work processes and PC games with high quality settings.

In order to meet personal fan noise requirements, customers can set the Total Graphics Power (TGP for short) within NVIDIA’s offical range of 45 to 115 watts (RTX 5060) and 50 to 115 watts (RTX 5070) respectively using the TUXEDO Control Center.

Low Profile Cooling for up to 170 Watts

In order to dissipate the combined heat from the high-end CPU and powerful graphics card in such a thin chassis, the InfinityBook Max 16 integrates a slightly larger, but virtually equally thin and light 8mm low profile cooling (InfinityBook Pro 15: 7mm), which raises the combined maximum power at full fan speed to 170 Watts. For reference: The diameter of a 1-Eurocent coin is double the size at 16mm!

As mentioned earlier, for quieter fan noise under load, CPU and GPU performance can be adjusted to meet the preferred acoustic level using the TUXEDO Control Center. If customers prioritize lower fan noise over a light and ultra thin chassis though, the Stellaris 16 runs significantly to substantially quieter while delivering the same performance thanks to superior 12mm cooling and even more power-efficient graphics cards.

Thunderbolt, 3x DisplayPort, 5x USB and up to 128 GB RAM

In addition to Thunderbolt 4, the InfinityBook Max 16 does not only provide a second USB-C port but also a Mini DisplayPort as well as an HDMI 2.1 interface for up to four high-resolution external monitors.

While both USB-C connections alternatively allow charging the Linux business laptop via USB-C Power Delivery (140W | 20V/7A), 3x USB-A ensure compatibility with classical peripherals. The placement of the less frequently unplugged monitor and power ports to the rear provide a clean and distraction-free cable management.

Storage-wise, the 16-inch Linux business gaming lapop offers each two easily accessible and upgradeable slots for up to 128 GB DDR5–5600 RAM and up to 8 terabytes of SSD storage (1x PCIe 5.0, 1x PCIe 4.0).
