The shapely and sturdy plastic housing of the TUXEDO Book BM1707 is particularly rigid due to its special curved design and the double edges. The plugged-in battery ensures stress-free energy supply even when on the move - a spare battery can be ordered.
After removing the bottom of the housing, all components are easy to maintain or replace.

The TUXEDO Book BM1707 is a device of the [B]business series, featuring energy-saving and thus battery-friendly Intel UHD 620 graphics and Intel's Ultrabook processors, thus increasing the battery runtime . Moreover, it is very slim what makes it the ideal companion and chic tool.
The 17,3 inch large screen is as with all TUXEDO Books matte. Thanks to this size, you have a full-size keyboard and a numeric keypad at your disposal! I. e. You can work almost like an external keyboard on a stationary PC.
To make sure that the display on the great screen runs smoothly, you can choose from most modern Intel Core-i processors up to Intel Core i7 quad-core.
The more powerful the processor, the faster programs run and the more you can push the purchase of a new notebook into the future. Because with time the system requirements of new and current programs increase more and more.
For the 2,5" hard disk you can use one HDD or SSD. In addition, the TUXEDO Book BM1707 has a M. 2 slot in which you can install special M. 2 SSDs. If you decide to use an M. 2-SSD, we will naturally install the operating system on this particularly fast storage medium. The further hard disk will then serve as a "data slave".
As a device with mobile multimedia capabilities, an optical drive in the form of a DVD or Blu-Ray burner must not be missing in addition to the various connections. This can be exchanged for especially "memory hungry" optionally also with a further hard disk!
You can provide the necessary network connections via WLAN in ac/a/b/g/n speed, Bluetooth or via cable-bonded Gigabit-LAN.
The other features leave nothing to be desired: 2,0 MP Webcam incl. Micro, USB3.1 Type-C Gen2, USB3.0 and USB2.0, HDMI, VGA D-Sub, Card-Reader and of course ports for microphone and headphones.
In addition, the BM1707 has white backlit buttons. This means that the white letters on the black keys light up! This keyboard lighting is of course controllable in its brightness and can be switched off.
Display / Monitor
Modern displays with IPS panels have bright areas along the frame as a normal characteristic. This has hardly any influence on everyday operation, not least because the displays are optimized for daylight operation. It can only be minimized, but not completely avoided, regardless of the manufacturer and for manufacturing reasons. Details on pixel error classes can be found here.

We're testing battery time always in idle mode, at minimal display brightness, with keyboard backlight deactivated, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth disabled and without any further connected devices (USB, LAN, HDMI, VGA etc. unplugged!). We always test with integrated graphics when a dedicated and integrated graphics chip is installed.
This way you get an information of maximal possible battery life. Starting from this, you can manage your individual battery life depending on your demands and to influence it, e.g. is keyboard backlight unnecessary during daylight. Bluetooth is also only needed to be turned on, if there's a Bluetooth device connected. Full display brightness as well is hardly always necessary.
Lifetime of batteries
The operation of all TUXEDO Books is also possible without battery. Users are often advised to remove the battery during permanent mains operation in order to conserve it. Thanks to FlexiCharger this is not necessary. Further Information

Operating systems
We install Ubuntu and TUXEDO OS (based on Ubuntu with KDE Plasma Desktop) in the latest 64-bit version with long term support.
With our fully automatic installation WebFAI you can easily perform a Linux installation exactly as we at TUXEDO Computers do it in our production! You can choose from all distributions that we also offer in our configurator. Depending on the distribution, you have the choice between different desktop interfaces. For "self-installers" and all who are interested, we have set up a database with downloads, instructions, tips & tricks and offer Tomte, a tool that automatically makes our adjustments under Ubuntu, elementary OS and Linux Mint:
Encrypted Installation
On request, we install your Linux system completely encrypted. The pre-installation as dual boot with Windows is technically not possible.

Windows on request
If you don't want or can't do without Windows, we install the desired Windows version next to Linux or alone. Please understand that a dual-boot installation can take 1-2 working days longer, even though the process is fully automatic. Please also note that we provide you with a correct Windows license incl. license sticker and installation DVD!
Windows Drivers
The corresponding Windows drivers are already included as standard with every device, regardless of whether it is with or without Windows or operating system installation. Alternatively, you are free to download all Windows-Drivers from here.

All devices have a maintenance-friendly design. Depending on the model, the essential hardware components such as processor, drive, hard disks, RAM, WIFI modules etc. can be accessed via maintenance flaps or removable floor trays. Furthermore the battery is replaceable if not stated differently. Of course, even after expiration of your warranty period, we're offering replacement parts and service for many years!

Temperature controlled silent fan
At low system workload/stress there is less heat emerging. The cooling system fans have to spin accordingly fast or slow or even turn themselves off completely. But the device doesn't produce any disturbing noises even at full load, no high frequency sounds or clatter, just air swooshing.
Custom fan control with the TUXEDO Control Center
With the TUXEDO Control Center you are able to control the behavior of the fans at yourself. This means that you get the ability to make your device as silent as possible. You are able to set the device almost passive cooled, without any fan noise most of the time!
