X like [X]treme and eXtrem is the performance of the X-Series devices!
Xtreme Series devices are aimed at customers who simply want the strongest and best the hardware market has to offer! The strongest graphics paired with the most memory, multiple hard drives and of course the fastest processors!
The newly developed XC1708 sets new standards in performance, workmanship and cooling in a slim 2.5cm aluminum case!
In addition to Intel's Six-Core i7 CPU, it can be equipped with up to NVIDIA's GeForce GTX1070 graphics chip with 8 GB of own video memory, M.2 SSDs, 2.5" HDDs or SSDs and 32 GB RAM.
The matt 17.3-inch IPS screen resolves either Full HD with 1920 x 1080 pixels or Ultra HD with 3840 x 2160 pixels.
They are also well prepared for any application on the connection side:
Hubs with four classic USB type-A connections, there is also a USB-C available. The latter also includes Thunderbolt 3 devices!
External screens can be connected via two Mini-DisplayPorts and one HDMI 2.0 Port in up to 4k resolution! Of course, this is also possible in parallel operation with three external screens, plus notebook display. (More about DaisyChaining.)
Otherwise, there are the obligatory connections and features such as a webcam incl. micro, headphone and microphone connections, card reader, a real LAN port, and a 2-in-1 audio port.
Tip: SSDs bring an enormous performance boost! There are many design possibilities here. You can either replace the normal hard disk with an SSD or use an additional hard disk that is plugged into the free M.2 slot. Thus you have then the speed advantages of SSDs with the low-priced space offer of HDDs combined and have two hard disks!
Display / Monitor
Modern displays with IPS panels have bright areas along the frame as a normal characteristic. This has hardly any influence on everyday operation, not least because the displays are optimized for daylight operation. It can only be minimized, but not completely avoided, regardless of the manufacturer and for manufacturing reasons. Details on pixel error classes can be found here.

The use of NVIDIA Optimus refers only to the internal display. All external display outputs are directly connected to the NVIDIA graphics. For the internal display, you can enable or disable the use of NVIDIA Optimus (also known as Hybrid Graphics). To use NVIDIA G-SYNC on the internal display, NVIDIA Optimus must be disabled.

Operating systems
We install Ubuntu and TUXEDO OS (based on Ubuntu with KDE Plasma Desktop) in the latest 64-bit version with long term support.
With our fully automatic installation WebFAI you can easily perform a Linux installation exactly as we at TUXEDO Computers do it in our production! You can choose from all distributions that we also offer in our configurator. Depending on the distribution, you have the choice between different desktop interfaces. For "self-installers" and all who are interested, we have set up a database with downloads, instructions, tips & tricks and offer Tomte, a tool that automatically makes our adjustments under Ubuntu, elementary OS and Linux Mint:
Encrypted Installation
On request, we install your Linux system completely encrypted. The pre-installation as dual boot with Windows is technically not possible.

Windows on request
If you don't want or can't do without Windows, we install the desired Windows version next to Linux or alone. Please understand that a dual-boot installation can take 1-2 working days longer, even though the process is fully automatic. Please also note that we provide you with a correct Windows license incl. license sticker and installation DVD!
Windows Drivers
The corresponding Windows drivers are already included as standard with every device, regardless of whether it is with or without Windows or operating system installation. Alternatively, you are free to download all Windows-Drivers from here.
Accessories
As accessories you can select an additional external display for enjoying dual display operating together with the laptop.
Furthermore we deliver a wired or wireless keyboard including a mouse or an additional wired mouse. These input devices are produced by Logitech and are only available with German layout!

All devices have a maintenance-friendly design. Depending on the model, the essential hardware components such as processor, drive, hard disks, RAM, WIFI modules etc. can be accessed via maintenance flaps or removable floor trays. Furthermore the battery is replaceable if not stated differently. Of course, even after expiration of your warranty period, we're offering replacement parts and service for many years!

Temperature controlled silent fan
At low system workload/stress there is less heat emerging. The cooling system fans have to spin accordingly fast or slow or even turn themselves off completely. But the device doesn't produce any disturbing noises even at full load, no high frequency sounds or clatter, just air swooshing.
Custom fan control with the TUXEDO Control Center
With the TUXEDO Control Center you are able to control the behavior of the fans at yourself. This means that you get the ability to make your device as silent as possible. You are able to set the device almost passive cooled, without any fan noise most of the time!
We are personally there for you Monday to Friday from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm (German time). But also outside these times, you can contact our team with your request by e-mail.
