The ultimate all-purpose weapon
The TUXEDO Book XC1407 is the little brother of one of our most popular devices, the XC1506, but small are only the dimensions of 14" in diameter and only 2.5cm in thickness. In terms of performance, the TUXEDO Book XC1406 is no less powerful than its bigger brothers and sisters! Enormously powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti paired with Intel Core i7-Quad-Core and DDR4 memory as well as three external monitor connections leave nothing to be desired! If you are on the road, especially valuable is an keyboard illumination with penguin super key and a LTE module, both of which are naturally present in the XC1407!
The hardware's hunger for performance is satisfied by fastest M. 2 SSDs with PCI-Express x4 and is supplemented by a 2.5" SATA3 slots with sufficient data memory.
An aluminum cover, USB3.1 type C, two mini-display ports, HDMI, Gigabit LAN, WLAN, and and and and complete this device to the ultimate all-purpose weapon!
The case of the TUXEDO Book XC1407 is made of high-quality plastic with a particularly smooth, resistant and therefore almost metallic surface. The housing cover and the A-cover are made of aluminium.
Coupled with the even weight distribution inside the walking area, it is a very mobile device and comfortable to take with you.
The battery consisting of prismatic cells is therefore not only very light but also powerful.
Despite its low construction height, the device is able to operate with very low noise, even under strong or uneven loads. The reason for this is the well-balanced structure of the cooling system: Two connected heatpipes and fans are symmetrically distributed in the housing and collectively cool the entire system!
So that you always find the right connection, USB3.1 type C Gen2, USB3.0, HDMI, two mini-displayPort, Gigabit-LAN, WLAN, Bluetooth 4.0 and a multi-card reader are available.
The backlit keyboard with penguin super key also makes typing even more comfortable. The white lighting can be regulated in steps and, of course, can also be deactivated. The entire keyboard background is illuminated, and the individual letters of the keys light up.
By default, 8 GB DDR4 memory is already built in, but upgrading to up to 64 GB is no problem thanks to the two RAM slots!
A harddisk with 500 GB comes in the basic configuration and can of course be replaced by disks with more memory or an SSD. If that is still not enough, you can choose an additional M. 2-SSD hard disks with up to PCI-Express x4 connection!
Display / Monitor
Modern displays with IPS panels have bright areas along the frame as a normal characteristic. This has hardly any influence on everyday operation, not least because the displays are optimized for daylight operation. It can only be minimized, but not completely avoided, regardless of the manufacturer and for manufacturing reasons. Details on pixel error classes can be found here.

Cooling System & Fan
Temperature controlled fan
At low system workload, there is less heat emerging. The cooling system fans can spin accordingly slow or even turn themselves off completely. Depending on the chassis, cooling system and CPU and GPU, high to very high fan noise (air swooshing) is produced under full load. Thinner notebooks normally tend to get louder due to less cooling capacity.
Custom performance and fan control with the TUXEDO Control Center
With the TUXEDO Control Center you are able to control the performance and the behavior of the fans by yourself. This means that you get the ability to make your device as quiet as possible. By heavily reducing the performance you are able to set the device almost passive cooled, without any fan noise most of the time!
Operating systems
We install Ubuntu and TUXEDO OS (based on Ubuntu with KDE Plasma Desktop) in the latest 64-bit version with long term support.
With our fully automatic installation WebFAI you can easily perform a Linux installation exactly as we at TUXEDO Computers do it in our production! You can choose from all distributions that we also offer in our configurator. Depending on the distribution, you have the choice between different desktop interfaces. For "self-installers" and all who are interested, we have set up a database with downloads, instructions, tips & tricks and offer Tomte, a tool that automatically makes our adjustments under Ubuntu, elementary OS and Linux Mint:
Encrypted Installation
On request, we install your Linux system completely encrypted. The pre-installation as dual boot with Windows is technically not possible.

Windows on request
If you don't want or can't do without Windows, we install the desired Windows version next to Linux or alone. Please understand that a dual-boot installation can take 1-2 working days longer, even though the process is fully automatic. Please also note that we provide you with a correct Windows license incl. license sticker and installation DVD!
Windows Drivers
The corresponding Windows drivers are already included as standard with every device, regardless of whether it is with or without Windows or operating system installation. Alternatively, you are free to download all Windows-Drivers from here.

All devices have a maintenance-friendly design. Depending on the model, the essential hardware components such as processor, drive, hard disks, RAM, WIFI modules etc. can be accessed via maintenance flaps or removable floor trays. Furthermore the battery is replaceable if not stated differently. Of course, even after expiration of your warranty period, we're offering replacement parts and service for many years!
