Little powerhouse: The new TUXEDO Book XP14

In line with the motto "Tiger in sheep's clothing" the new TUXEDO Book XP14 focuses on a compact and lightweight as well as unobtrusive chassis and relies on its strong inner values:

Thanks to its fast Tiger Lake processor Core i7-1165G7 with Iris Xe Graphics and optional NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, the TUXEDO Book XP14 not only turns out to be a small powerhouse for 'work and play', but also offers blazingly fast connectivity thanks to full featured USB-C 4.0 / Thunderbolt 4.

    Lightweight and compact chassis

With case dimensions of 324,9 x 225 x 17,6 mm and weight of 1,45 kg the TUXEDO Book XP14 is the smallest and lightest TUXEDO Notebook with NVIDIA graphics!

While the aluminum display lid provides sturdy protection for the device, the XP14 uses a fingerprint-resistant plastic surface in an unusual 'deep navy blue' color for the rest of the chassis.

Thanks to Intel's highly efficient Tiger Lake power saving processors, which are manufactured in a new 10 nm process, the internally screwed 49 Wh battery allows runtimes of up to 6 hours (video streaming via Wifi and ~ 150 nits display brightness).

Speaking of the display: The 14.0 inch type IPS display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FullHD) and a fast refresh rate of 120 Hz. The matte coating and the brightness of ~300 nits also allow outdoor usage.

Tiger Lake with Iris Xe Graphics

The small 14 inch Linux performance laptop features Intel's new Tiger Lake power saving processor Core i7-1165G7 with 4 cores | 8 threads in its strongest configuration with a TDP of 28 watts (default: 15 watts).

With 96 Execution Units (EUs), the integrated Iris Xe Graphics offers greatly improved performance over the previous iGPU generation and is well equipped for all everyday tasks including image and video editing and even light gaming in reduced settings.

Mobile gaming power thanks to NVIDIA GTX 1650

More sophisticated users with higher gaming ambitions will most likely choose the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, which turns the TUXEDO Book XP14 into a powerful mobile Gaming console.

The GTX 1650 features 4GB of GDDR6 video memory and a TGP (Total Graphics Power) of 50 watts resulting in around twice the performance compared to the Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

Thunderbolt 4 with Power Delivery and DisplayPort

The TUXEDO Book XP14 integrates the new standard Thunderbolt 4 (USB 4.0) with up to 40 Gbit/s data transfer rate, USB Power Delivery for charging the Linux laptop via USB-C power supply and integrated DisplayPort for up to two external monitors (see "Technical Details").

Furthermore 3x USB ports as well as HDMI 1.4b and a LAN port are available. The 2-in-1 headphone/microphone as well as the 6-in-1 card reader finish the comprehensive connection setup.

Super fast PCIe 4.0 SSD and max. 64 GB RAM

The M.2 SSD slot is connected via the extremely fast PCIe 4.0 interface, which allows the use of the latest SSDs with highest data speeds.

Even in terms of memory the TUXEDO Book XP14 does not compromise on performance despite its small chassis with up to 64 GB DDR4 RAM (Dual Channel).

    Display / Monitor

Modern displays with IPS panels have bright areas along the frame as a normal characteristic. This has hardly any influence on everyday operation, not least because the displays are optimized for daylight operation. It can only be minimized, but not completely avoided, regardless of the manufacturer and for manufacturing reasons. Details on pixel error classes can be found here.

    Lifetime of batteries

The operation of all TUXEDO Books is also possible without battery. Users are often advised to remove the battery during permanent mains operation in order to conserve it. Thanks to FlexiCharger this is not necessary. Further Information

    Battery life:
Up to 11 hours at min. display-brightness, without Wifi & Bluetooth, without keyboard backlit, in idle mode
Up to 6 hours at medium brightness with Wifi, at office work

We're testing battery time always in idle mode, at minimal display brightness, with keyboard backlight deactivated, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth disabled and without any further connected devices (USB, LAN, HDMI, VGA etc. unplugged!). We always test with integrated graphics when a dedicated and integrated graphics chip is installed.
This way you get an information of maximal possible battery life. Starting from this, you can manage your individual battery life depending on your demands and to influence it, e.g. is keyboard backlight unnecessary during daylight. Bluetooth is also only needed to be turned on, if there's a Bluetooth device connected. Full display brightness as well is hardly always necessary.

    Cooling System & Fan

    Temperature controlled fan
At low system workload, there is less heat emerging. The cooling system fans can spin accordingly slow or even turn themselves off completely. Depending on the chassis, cooling system and CPU and GPU, high to very high fan noise (air swooshing) is produced under full load. Thinner notebooks normally tend to get louder due to less cooling capacity.

Custom performance and fan control with the TUXEDO Control Center
With the TUXEDO Control Center you are able to control the performance and the behavior of the fans by yourself. This means that you get the ability to make your device as quiet as possible. By heavily reducing the performance you are able to set the device almost passive cooled, without any fan noise most of the time!
