Devices of the XUX series are aimed at customers who not only want the strongest and best, but also all those who want extreme conditions. XUX therefore also stands for irrationality, for too much power, so much that you don't really need it... but absolutely want to!
Everything at the newly developed XUX708 has been developed to a XUX! That's why an desktop processor works here, even up to the strongest Core-i9-K processor Intel has to offer. The fact that up to a GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card from NVIDIA is possible should be self-evident and consistent.
The symmetrically arranged cooling system, which is equipped with two extra-large fans, each cooling CPU and graphics card via three heatpipes, is synchronized via two additional heatpipes and thus works in parallel on the cooling of the system, which is as quiet as it is powerful.
Of course, all this requires space, but it is also good for accommodating up to 4 DDR4 memory bars (up to 64 GB DDR4), two large 2.5" hard disks and two M. 2 NVMe PCIe-x4 SSDs. Also on board are USB 3.1 type C Gen2 ports, one of them with Thunderbolt, four USB3.0 ports, two mini display ports and one HDMI 2.0 port as well as various audio connections and a gigabit LAN port!
Mandatory but not missing are a cardreader, of course. Headset inputs and outputs, a webcam incl. microphone and a Kensington lock.
The keyboard, also developed for an XUX, invites you to type thanks to lighting as well as curvature and a clear pressure point! Even frequent typists won't want to take their hands off the device, which almost feels velvety due to its scratch-resistant rubberized surface.
The user-focused Onkyo 2.0 and SOUND BLASTER® X-FI® MB5 sound system also delivers great sound.
A 17.3-inch IPS display with its extremely bright and high-contrast display and matt surface makes your eyes shine!
By default, 8 GB DDR4 memory is already built in, but upgrading to up to 64 GB is no problem thanks to four RAM slots!
A harddisk with 500 GB comes in the basic configuration and can be upgraded to up to two HDDs or SSDs. If that is still not enough, you can choose up to two more M. 2-SSD hard disks! Of course, the latter two are also connected to NVMe/PCIe.
Whom the graphic power of the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 is not enough can still upgrade to the GTX 1070 or even GTX 1080!
Display / Monitor
Modern displays with IPS panels have bright areas along the frame as a normal characteristic. This has hardly any influence on everyday operation, not least because the displays are optimized for daylight operation. It can only be minimized, but not completely avoided, regardless of the manufacturer and for manufacturing reasons. Details on pixel error classes can be found here.

Lifetime of batteries

Cooling System & Fan
Temperature controlled fan
At low system workload, there is less heat emerging. The cooling system fans can spin accordingly slow or even turn themselves off completely. Depending on the chassis, cooling system and CPU and GPU, high to very high fan noise (air swooshing) is produced under full load. Thinner notebooks normally tend to get louder due to less cooling capacity.
Custom performance and fan control with the TUXEDO Control Center
With the TUXEDO Control Center you are able to control the performance and the behavior of the fans by yourself. This means that you get the ability to make your device as quiet as possible. By heavily reducing the performance you are able to set the device almost passive cooled, without any fan noise most of the time!
Operating systems
We install Ubuntu and TUXEDO OS (based on Ubuntu with KDE Plasma Desktop) in the latest 64-bit version with long term support.
With our fully automatic installation WebFAI you can easily perform a Linux installation exactly as we at TUXEDO Computers do it in our production! You can choose from all distributions that we also offer in our configurator. Depending on the distribution, you have the choice between different desktop interfaces. For "self-installers" and all who are interested, we have set up a database with downloads, instructions, tips & tricks and offer Tomte, a tool that automatically makes our adjustments under Ubuntu, elementary OS and Linux Mint:
Encrypted Installation
On request, we install your Linux system completely encrypted. The pre-installation as dual boot with Windows is technically not possible.

Windows on request
If you don't want or can't do without Windows, we install the desired Windows version next to Linux or alone. Please understand that a dual-boot installation can take 1-2 working days longer, even though the process is fully automatic. Please also note that we provide you with a correct Windows license incl. license sticker and installation DVD!
Windows Drivers
The corresponding Windows drivers are already included as standard with every device, regardless of whether it is with or without Windows or operating system installation. Alternatively, you are free to download all Windows-Drivers from here.
Accessories
As accessories you can select an additional external display for enjoying dual display operating together with the laptop.
Furthermore we deliver a wired or wireless keyboard including a mouse or an additional wired mouse. These input devices are produced by Logitech and are only available with German layout!

All devices have a maintenance-friendly design. Depending on the model, the essential hardware components such as processor, drive, hard disks, RAM, WIFI modules etc. can be accessed via maintenance flaps or removable floor trays. Furthermore the battery is replaceable if not stated differently. Of course, even after expiration of your warranty period, we're offering replacement parts and service for many years!
