More substance than appearance:
Gaming the unobtrusive way
The inner values count: The TUXEDO Polaris 15 follows this philosophy unlike many other gaming laptops and focuses on entry-level high-end hardware for sophisticated, but price-conscious customers in a subtle, yet elegant aluminum chassis.
To achieve this, the Linux gaming notebook combines the upper-class graphics processor GeForce RTX 3060 in NVIDIA's fastest TGP configuration with up to 140 watts with the popular AMD Ryzen 7 6800H, which not only stands for high performance, but also outstanding energy efficiency. Flanked by brand-new and blazing-fast DDR5-4800 MHz RAM, the Polaris 15 - Gen4 offers great system performance for work and play.
This performance needs to be cooled properly, especially in such a thin form factor: For a cooler and quieter, stationary operation the Linux gamer is now compatible with our external water cooling gadget TUXEDO Aquaris.
Elegant and lightweight aluminum chassis
Blinking LEDs, RGB lighting all around or fancy and flashy design gimmicks do not belong to the 15.6 inch Linux gaming notebook's repertoire: The TUXEDO Polaris 15 relies on a classically subtle understatement case design without choosing a bland or boring design language.
On the contrary: The matte black aluminum display lid and base unit provide the Polaris 15 with a haptically as well as visually elegant appearance, thus also allow the use in the office, meeting room or lecture hall without attracting smirking looks.
The TUXEDO Polaris 15 chooses the middle ground of highest portability in relation to class leading GPU performance and - considering the RTX 3060's top-tier TGP with up to 140 watts - embeds its high-performance components into a remarkably thin (2.3 cm) and exceptionally light (2.1 kg, 4.6 lbs) aluminum chassis.

The full-size membrane keyboard including number pad provides a pleasantly quiet yet well defined typing experience and provides adjustable RGB keyboard backlight with 4 brightness levels.
The 115 x 73 mm Microsoft Precision clickpad with integrated mouse buttons features a smooth surface for pleasent gliding properties and can be deactivated via a double finger tap in the upper left corner to avoid accidental inputs when using an external mouse instead.
Under the matte black bottom panel, all components are freely accessible for easy upgrading and maintenance: In addition to the 62 Wh battery for runtimes of up to 7 hours, two M.2 SSD and brand new, blazing fast DDR5-4800-MHz RAM slots each are available. Two 50 mm fans and 5 heat pipes are responsible for removing the heat emitted by the powerful components.
GeForce RTX 3060 with
maximum performance
For top-tier graphical performance, the Understatement Gamer is equipped with the powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. Thanks to the highest TGP (Total Graphics Power) specification by NVIDIA, the Polaris 15 provides the fastest version of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 115 watts of board power draw.
Due to NVIDIA's Dynamic Boost technology, the GPU can even increase its power limit up to 130* watts in certain workload situations where the CPU does not draw a lot of power simultaneously for best possible graphics performance.
In combination with the 6 GB GDDR6 VRAM, the entry level high-end GPU offers the best price-performance ratio and enough reserves for either high-resolution gaming on the sharp WQHD display or high-framerate gaming to fully take advantage of the Full HD display's 144 Hz refresh rate.
Strong performance meets outstanding efficiency: AMD Ryzen 7 6800H
Intel's long-term competitor AMD has placed a big hit with its Ryzen processors: The unprecedented efficiency in this performance class continues to set standards and wrestles up to 7 hours of endurance from the Polaris 15's mid-sized 62 Wh battery.
But AMD's bestseller of the high performance Ryzen 6000H series doesn't disappoint either when it comes to multicore render speeds: With 8 efficiency-enhanced cores (Zen 3+), which can each handle 2 processes simultaneously for a total of up to 16 threads, the Ryzen 7 6800H offers great performance for content creation and gaming.
Specified with up to 4.7 GHz (single-core) and a base TDP of 45 watts, which - as with all CPUs - must be far exceeded for full performance, the Polaris 15's Ryzen 7 6800H operates at significant higher power limits. For maximum clock speeds and fastest multicore renderings the TUXEDO Aquaris provides additional cooling for stationary use.
External water cooling
for stationary use
When the heat is on in virtual battles or the most computationally intensive renderings, the new, external liquid cooling gadget TUXEDO Aquaris pushes the limits of cooling.
Hidden under a black rubber cap on the back of the Polaris 15 - Gen4 is the quick release connector for plugging the two 650 mm long and 9 mm thick, black sleeved tubes into the notebook. The cooling liquid, which is in the scope of delivery, gets then pumped from the Aquaris' reservoir through a specific cooling tube that sits right on top of the regular air cooling heatpipes inside the Polaris 15's chassis.
This way, the notebook‘s conventional air cooling gets amplified by TUXEDO Aquaris, resulting in significantly reduced surface and hardware temperatures andlower fan noise. Alternatively, the additional cooling capacity can be invested in maximized CPU performance for rendering at highest speeds.
The TUXEDO Aquaris' weight of 1.39 kg and its relatively small case dimensions of 203 x 75 x 186 mm allow an occasional transport, although - due to the need to empty the Aquaris' water reservoir each time - it is clearly designed for stationary use at the desk.
Full HD or WQHD:
Take a look for yourself!
The TUXEDO Polaris 15 provides two different display options: Besides a 144 Hz Full HD IPS display for maximum frame rates even in demanding PC games, a more detailed WQHD screen with a higher resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels is also available.
While the image quality of both panels differ only slightly (brightness, contrast) to even hardly noticeable (~90 vs 95 % sRGB color gamut), the WQHD display especially benefits from its significantly finer resolution in everyday use: High-resolution images look very sharp and rich in detail, texts are more comfortably legible even in small font sizes without eye strain.
The difference is also noticeable in games but not quite as big. So the decision whether WQHD or Full HD is up to personal preference: While the GeForce RTX 3060 has enough reserves for high-resolution gaming due to its high power budget, 1080p gamers benefit from maximum frame rates to fully take advantage of the display's high refresh rate.
HDMI 2.1, full-size SD card reader and 4x USB
Besides the new port for the TUXEDO Aquaris water cooling at the back, there is a fast USB-C 3.2 Gen2x1 interface with integrated DisplayPort 1.4 as well as HDMI 2.1 for connecting external monitors (each connected to the NVIDIA graphics for best performance).
For data exchange, the Polaris 15 is equipped with 3x USB-A ports (2x USB 3.2 Gen2x1, 1x USB 3.2 Gen1) and a full-size SD card reader. The connectivity is rounded off by the microphone input and headphone output as well as the obligatory Kensington Lock.
